OBi110 VoIP Adapters from OBihai Technology Inc
Popular networking equipment manufacturer Linksys, and their parent company Cisco, have dominated the FXS/FXO VoIP adapter market with the SPA3012 since its release in 2007. The orignal designers came from a company called Sipura, who were swallowed up by Linksys some years back. These same people have now departed company with Cisco and setup their own business under the name of OBihai Technology Inc in the USA.
They have very quickly come out with a range of VoIP devices that have all the same features as Linksys devices - and then some. Here at IP Alarms, we are much more interested in the fact that the new OBi110 model is a great alternative to the SPA3102 for alarm monitoring purposes.

OBi110 for Alarm Monitoring over IP
The features offered by the OBi110 are almost identical to the SPA3102. This means that IP Alarms customers can reliably monitor their security system over IP, yet have a backup path to the monitoring center by utilizing the backup port on the OBi110.
If your Internet connection is available, the OBi110 will send your alarm signals over IP. If not, the OBi110 will switch to using the backup port and whatever cellular communication equipment is attached to that port. It then becomes the responsibility of the backup equipment to get the alarm signal to the Monitoring Center.
