eMACSys - Modular Alarm Control System
eMACSys is a "bare bones" system that allows you to design and brand your very own security alarm panel. You are responsible for designing/sourcing your own plastic/metal power supply case in which to mount the various eMACSys PCB's.
The concept behind eMACSys is that you start with a main board and add various plug-on modules to assist in the design of a complete system. Connection between the modules is via flexible 10 way ribbons which allow you to more easily position each PCB within your chosen PSU/housing. There is no conventional keypad to program or arm & disarm the system as this is done via a smart phone or computer web browser.

Main Module The main module board contains just enough logic to monitor when alarm detection circuits are opened or closed. Rather than decide what action to take each time it detects a change in state, data is immediately sent to the server. It has a powerful 16 bit processor and a series of expansion ports that allow connection of the various modules. The board contains a USB port which allows simple configuration via PC software. |

Zone Module Each zone input module contains 8 normally closed zones for wiring conventional alarm system detectors like magnetic contacts and PIR's. You can add two of these to each main board, providing you with 16 zones in total. Zone 1 acts as a trigger to arm or disarm the system and commence monitoring. If zone 1 is open, then the system is considered disarmed. When the zone wiring is physically closed by something like a simple keyswitch or remote keypad, then the system is considered armed and monitoring starts. An alternative way for an end user to arm & disarm the system is via a smart phone or web browser on a computer. |

Output Module The image shows a module with 8 outputs. You can add two of these to each main board, providing you with 16 outputs in total. A simple 12v buzzer can be wired and powered directly from the main/output board. The outputs can also be used to hold off a self contained bell module (SCB) and remove voltage under an alarm condition. The conventional use of the output board is to control relays which can in turn power audible warnings, open gates, switch on sprinklers and the like. The eMACSys Relay Module has a single set of changeover contacts (1 Amp at 24V d.c. / 110V a.c.) and can be used for this purpose. |

Ethernet Module Pictured next to a US Dollar note to give an indication of size, you can see how small the ethernet module is and how it connects via a ten way ribbon to the main board. The ethernet module provides the eMACSys communication with the outside world and is responsible for transmitting data to the server. The communication path is supervised at a programmable interval - normally 55 seconds. If supervision is lost, operational staff can be alerted via their terminal, or end users can be notified directly. |

Cellular SMS/GPRS Module Pictured alongside the main module, you can see that the cellular module is very compact. It connects to the main board via a ten way ribbon and receives it's power from the main board. An SMA connector is provided on a flying lead for connection to an antenna. Provision is made for a SIM card which is not supplied. For security systems that require an advanced level of redundancy, it is easy to plug on the cellular module and have events sent to the server via a cellular GPRS network or via SMS. |
