IP Alarm Monitoring during Power Fail
The Linksys AG310 ADSL2+ Gateway enables reliable alarm monitoring service through your DSL Internet connection without the worry of power fail. The AG310 Gateway device can be powered directly from the 12v DC terminals of an alarm panel to make full use of its battery backup facility.
If the mains electric fails, the AG310 will continue to function normally and maintain a connection to the Internet using power from the backup battery on the alarm panel.
AG310 and the Linksys Alarm Monitoring Solution
The AG310 is ideally suited to applications where the continuity of an Internet connection and alarm monitoring service during a power falure is of paramount importance. The AG310 has a port for connecting directly to an alarm panel modem via RJ11 phone cable. It also has a backup port for connection to a cellular backup device with dialer capture to allow continued alarm monitoring service when the DSL Internet connection is lost or the physical line has been cut.
Port Forwarding for IP Camera Recording
One of the main concerns for Dealers where IP Cameras are part of a security system, is the requirement for port forwarding the subscriber router to allow for access to the cameras from the Internet. When you provide your subscribers with an AG310, you can easily setup any port forwarding within a familiar environment under your full control. This makes the device an ideal choice not only for Alarm Dealers, but also for ISP's or tech companies providing bundled broadband services. It should be noted that where IP Cameras are part of a security system, they will not be powered from the alarm panel and they will need their own backup power source.
Branding the Product
As with most "off the shelf" Linksys devices, your company has the option of replacing the stickers on the plastic case with your own stickers or removing the printed circuit board entirely from the plastic case and promoting the device as a PCB Only product that can be installed neatly inside the alarm control panel.
